About the Opportunity

St Hedwig Village now has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team in Blacktown, NSW, as part of a 6 - 12 month contract. This is a part-time role, working around 24 hours per week, with days and hours flexible.

Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will be wholly responsible for managing, processing and maintaining the payroll system for St Hedwig Village.

Some of your duties will also include (but will not be limited to):

  • Preparing and processing fortnightly wage payments;
  • Ensuring accurate data entry of employee time-sheets and leave requests;
  • Coordinating salary packaging with the outsourced provider;
  • Preparing and running payroll reports as requested;
  • Preparing and reconciling monthly superannuation contributions; and
  • Ensuring that payroll system information is maintained on a regular basis.

About You

St Hedwig Village is seeking a candidate with significant experience handling payrolls for at least 150 people. Ideally, you will also have experience using the PayGlobal system and an understanding of salary packaging.

You will be able to interpret Awards and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, and be comfortable and confident working autonomously as the organisation's standalone Payroll Officer.

Importantly, you will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. Attention to detail and accuracy is very important.

In addition, you will need a high level of computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.

Experience with payroll systems using finger scanning would be advantageous.
