About the Opportunity
Stacks Law Firm is now seeking a Senior Paralegal to join the team in either their Murwillumbah or Tweed Heads office on a full-time basis.
Working in the Personal Injury team and with the direct support of a legal assistant, you will be responsible for liaising with clients, preparing applications and drafting documents.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Preparing out of pocket schedules, lists of documents, and chronologies;
- Providing briefs to Counsel, doctors, and experts;
- Sending documents and medical reports to insurers, clients, and other stakeholders as required;
- Liaising and general correspondence with clients to arrange meetings and advise of medical appointments;
- Assisting with brief client advice and minor legal tasks;
- Drafting documents for motor accident matters and work cover claims; and
- Preparing applications and supporting docs for a range of NSW and QLD matters.
About You
Stacks is looking for someone who can hit the ground running, with significant Paralegal experience in the Personal Injury field in either NSW or QLD, with experience in both highly regarded.
Importantly, you will be a patient and empathetic individual, with the ability to show compassion for those experiencing significant physical or medical hardships, in addition to a range of psychological injuries, often as a result of workplace bullying or similar. You will be passionate about social justice and have a genuine interest in working to help people.
It is vital that you can work autonomously on a variety of tasks, effectively managing competing deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy. You will also require strong Microsoft Office and general computer skills, and ideally be familiar with the use of legal software, particularly Practice Evolve or similar.
