About the Opportunity

Student Horizons now has an opportunity for a full-time General Manager - Sales and Marketing to join their team. This position can be based out of the new Brisbane Global Head Office or the Auckland office. 

This is a pivotal leadership position forming part of the Executive Team, responsible for spearheading the growth of the business in order to affirm and enhance the business position within the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Some of your key duties will include:

  • Developing and driving strategic direction to achieve revenue goals through strategic sales and marketing initiatives;
  • Overseeing the Sales Team including providing team members with mentoring, coaching and training;
  • Strategising with the senior leadership team regarding sales and marketing plans; and
  • Executing hands-on selling.

About You

In order to be successful in this position, you will be a senior professional with a strong sales management background. Experience in growing and developing sales teams at a national level, with the ability to recruit talent, monitor performance and build a motivated and productive team in a healthy working environment, will be critical to your success.

Due to the nature of the role, it is also expected that the successful candidate will possess experience in the creation and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives that support and boost sales activity. As there is an element of hands-on sales activity within this position, it is also important you have a strong personal track record of closing sales and hitting KPIs.

Student Horizons is seeking an inspirational leader, with charisma, coaching ability, and excellent people management skills. A strong collaborator will be best suited to the role, as you will be working in close connection with the executive team in strategic planning capacity.

As the business continues to expand, change will be common. As such, it is essential you be an adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.

It goes without saying, the ideal candidate will also be well travelled with a passion for the industry. This will ensure your willingness to jump into different areas of the business here and there, in order to develop a full understanding of the service offerings the organisation delivers. Although not essential, any experience in selling within the secondary education market will be highly regarded.
