About QML Pathology

QML Pathology (QML) is a comprehensive medical laboratory and pathology practice with 24 laboratories and over 635 patient pathology collection centre locations throughout Queensland, Northern NSW and Tasmania (operating as TML). As a subsidiary of Healius, QML is part of the larger network of laboratories which includes QML Pathology, Laverty Pathology, Dorevitch Pathology, Western Diagnostic Pathology and Kossard Dermatopathology.

QML Pathology has spent more than 90 years providing a first rate and reliable service to medical practitioners and patients alike. With rapid growth and vast testing capacity, QML is an industry leader that places significant capital investment in infrastructure and technology.

About the Opportunities

QML Pathology now has multiple full-time opportunities available for Anatomical Pathologists to join their team. You will ideally be based at QML's central laboratory in Brisbane, however, candidates can choose to work from the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast if preferable. These positions are open to qualified Pathologists of all experience levels.

This is an exciting opportunity to embark on a rewarding career with one of Queensland's leading health care providers. You will be joining an existing team of nationally recognised Pathologists and work collaboratively within a larger team of dedicated scientific professionals.

Reporting to the Medical Director, you will provide consultant pathology services, which will facilitate the provision of appropriate high quality pathology services to the community served by QML Pathology. This includes an advisory and diagnostic service in matters in which the Pathologist is qualified relating to pathological examinations, including equipment evaluation, quality control, appropriate procedures determination, interpretation, advice and support to clinicians and the community.

As part of this role, you may also be required to participate in the growth of the laboratory through networking and the attendance of educational events.

About You

To be considered for one of these positions, you will hold specialist Anatomical Pathology qualifications or equivalent (FRCPA) and be eligible for Specialist Registration with AHPRA. RCPA certification is not mandatory, but would be highly regarded.

Whilst you will ideally experience in a similar role, QML can support recent graduates and/or someone who is at the end of their studies and looking to transition into the workforce. As such, these positions would be equally suited to either a currently graduating Pathologist wishing to develop their experience in skin pathology, or an experienced skin Pathologist looking to secure stable, long-term employment with a national pathology provider.

As a large volume business, the ability to work a variety of cases at any given time will be critical to your success in this role. With a dual focus on patient care and business growth/referrals, you will be flexible in your approach, comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team environment and have a genuine interest in histopathology and developing a career in this area.

About the Benefits

If you are excited about the opportunity to work in a fast-paced role that offers loads of variety and ongoing career progression - look no further!

As well as securing permanent full-time employment with a national pathology provider in a centrally located laboratory, successful applicants will receive:

  • A competitive salary and leave package, including conference leave and expenses;
  • Support to attend national and international conferences;
