About the Opportunity
Hyden Engineering has recently purchased the Hosepower (QLD) operation in Emerald, QLD. This expansion has created an exciting opening for a full-time Field Service Fitter to join the Hyden team. This will be a residential role as most of your work is done in the workshop or throughout the Emerald region.
This position will involve working both in the field and in the workshop.
Field work duties will include: diagnosing; installing; and repairing on site. Spending up to a week in the field. Local TRAVEL is mandatory.
Workshop duties will include: repairing and overhauling various types of hydraulics, lubrications or mechanical components; and building of new projects.
Other key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Ensuring strip inspection and assembly work is complete, accurate and completed on budget;
- Ensuring that all installations are to the agreed standard;
- Promoting the company, its products and its services, whilst in the field;
- Ensuring that the site vehicle is maintained, cleaned and always fit for service.
Please note: The level of training and/or supervision is dependent on the candidates experience and competency within the role.
About You
Hyden Engineering is seeking a candidate who is an experienced fitter and holds trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter Machinist. Experience in hydraulics will be highly regarded.
The ability to use all normal tools, read hydraulic symbols, use hydraulic test rigs and be competent with all measuring instruments are a requirement for this role.
You will be safety conscious, reliable and prompt with the ability to do the job well and on time. Your can do attitude and positivity will be an asset to the team.
Due to the customer focused nature of this technical position, it's important you possess strong communication skills. Reporting will be done by you, so experience in Excel will be required.
In addition, the successful candidate will have exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to learn systems and processes quickly.
Please Note: A current Driver's License is a requirement of this position.
