About your New Role

Goway Travel now has an opportunity for a French or German speaking Travel Consultant to join their Free Independent Travel (FIT) team on a permanent full-time basis. This position will be based out of their Sydney office.

Reporting to the FIT Team Leader and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the daily processing of bookings and quotes, answering client inquiries and providing updates to agents of any potential changes to holiday plans as required.

Day to day tasks will include:

  • Book all components of new reservations and amendments following Goway’s procedures;
  • Provide advice and alternatives to agents in the event of availability issues;
  • Ensure bookings have all details and notes, ready for invoicing and documentation;
  • Action and confirm all quotes and re-quotes within 24 hours of receipt;
  • Provide consistently excellent customer service to both agents and clients;
  • Be available for after-hours phone calls as part of a rotating weekly roster.
  • Provide booking notes and correspondence in both English and the relevant foreign language

About You

Goway is looking for a personable individual with a genuine interest to work within a passionate team and has a strong customer focus. You must be able to speak French or German as a second language and ideally have previous Travel Agency experience, in either a retail, wholesale or inbound related role, with a relevant qualification in travel or tourism.

You will have a real passion for the benefits of travel, a good knowledge of Australia and New Zealand destinations, and a dedication to ensuring that clients have unforgettable experiences.

Strong attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and stakeholders will be essential, and you will equally need to be extremely organised and able to prioritise efficiently

This role will see you working with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external, which will require strong written and verbal communication skills. You will also need to be confident using your computer skills on a range of software.
