About the Opportunity

Coliban Water has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Portfolio Management Officer to join their team on a full-time basis. You will be working from their head office in Bendigo, VIC, with some travel to remote locations as required.

Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure, your main responsibilities will be administering the day to day governance assurance activities for Coliban Waters’ portfolio of capital projects and administrating the project information system.

The role has oversight of project status and enables early identification of dependencies, risks and issues. This position will work with the Project Managers and the business to ensure that projects are managed in line with Coliban Waters’ Project Lifecycle Management Framework and all associated project management processes and governance.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Coordinating the timely collation and distribution of meeting papers and other correspondence, including the preparation of agendas, reports and minutes for the Capital Portfolio Delivery Group (CPDG) and the Investment Review Committee (IRC);
  • Proactively obtaining and reviewing required project documentation and data for completeness and accuracy;
  • Managing change and promoting the continuous improvement of portfolio and project management related processes;
  • Delivering coaching and training on standard portfolio and project management tools, processes, procedures and policies to all staff; and
  • Assisting with the development, implementation and auditing of systems to provide governance and assurance of portfolio and project management processes.

About You

To be considered for this position you will have tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Business, with additional qualifications in Project Management such as a Certificate IV or Diploma.

You will have demonstrated experience in portfolio and/or project management, as well as providing governance, financial and non-financial controls across a portfolio of projects. You will also have had exposure to project, program and portfolio management methodologies (such as Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK)). 

Coliban Water needs someone with a high-level of both written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work creatively and analytically. You will have demonstrated experience in leading, developing and managing teams, and the strong interpersonal skills necessary to proactively implement change and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. 

You will need to be capable of working both autonomously and as part of a team, with the ability to plan and prioritise multiple tasks to meet required deadlines. 

Due to the nature of this role you will require a current valid Driver's License.
