About the Opportunity

Due to significant ongoing growth Climatech now has an exciting opportunity for a confident and hands-on Project Manager to join their team in Canberra, ACT on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the ACT Branch Manager this is a varied and busy role that will see you actively managing the delivery of multiple projects to ensure that a quality service is delivered to clients. Projects will vary in scope up to $7 million major projects, depending on your level of experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and overseeing project timelines and milestones for smooth project delivery;
  • Reading and understanding mechanical drawings and specifications, marking them up as required when works are installed;
  • Managing all subcontractors and employees and providing mentorship and supervision to project team members;
  • Building and developing business relationships vital to the success of the project;
  • Managing the financial performance of the project, including setting and maintaining budgets and managing monthly progress claims; and
  • Conducting post-project reviews to identify strengths or weaknesses in the project and delivery technique to improve future company performance.

About You

To be considered for this position you will have experience managing and delivering projects up to $4-5 million in scope. Any relevant qualifications, whilst not essential, will be highly regarded, as will a background in HVAC or mechanical/electrical engineering.

You will require high-level financial skills, to effectively read and monitor projects budgets, and will be a dynamic leader and strong communicator, with the ability to engage with people face to face, over the phone, and through email.

You will have the relevant technical knowledge to confidently provide advice or justify decisions, remaining assertive but not aggressive as you manage both internal and external stakeholders, successfully negotiating as required.
