About Tasman District Council

The Tasman District Council has the structure and processes of a large organisation, with over 300 employees, but the culture and feel of a smaller one. They provide services for approximately 45,000 residents of the Tasman District area, located on the north of the South Island of New Zealand.

As one of the five unitary councils in New Zealand, they combine the work and obligations of a regional council and a district council into one institution. This enables an end-to-end decision-making and project management process. They are committed to protecting and preserving their exceptional heritage and beautiful environment, whilst working with the community to drive significant social and economic growth.

Tasman District Council plan to continue their work on making the district an innovative, progressive, and culturally diverse place for both current and future residents.
