About The Opportunity
A company where no two days are ever the same, Story Fresh is looking for an experienced Food Manufacturing Operations Manager to join their team as they transition into the new manufacturing complex and work towards utilising the new capability this brings!
You will be working closely with the owners and other senior management at Story Fresh to contribute to the continued growth and success of this expanding business. This newly created role is based in Cambooya, South East Queensland, on a full-time basis.
Some of your daily responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Manage productivity and yield across all factory production lines;
- Oversight of the factory production programs and WHS compliance;
- Implementation of the extensive Quality Management System and its’ schedules to ensure daily operations meet all Company, customer and audit requirements, and milestones are met in full and on time;
- Develop, present and assess staff training programs appropriate to the factory operations and strict food safety protocols;
- Manage, adjust, identify and implement to achieve cost saving efficiencies;
- Contribute to developing and implementing improved processes and practices that foster growth and enable Story Fresh to capitalise on its’ expanded production capacity and capability by achieving its Vision of “Quality product, on time, every time”;
- Interact with other areas of the Company to ensure production planning, KPI’s and workplans are fully achieved through strong focus, review and continuous improvement;
- Participate in and contribute to strategic discussions and subsequently turn strategy into operation.
The right candidate will be offered extensive training in Story Fresh's products and processes with a view to developing towards greater responsibilities and operational decision making.
About You
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have significant demonstrated experience in a supervising or managerial role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. You will preferably hold a degree in a Food Technology, Science or Engineering (mechatronics is ideal) related field.
You will need a demonstrated understanding of and experience in implementing Food Safety, Quality Standards and Risk Management as well as audit processes (both internal and external), and a strong understanding of WHS standards and applications.
Your strong problem solving and decision making skills, analytical thinking and people management abilities will be vital.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent memory with the capacity to multi-task and prioritise, alongside a methodical, attention-to-detail approach in a high-pressure environment.
Most importantly, you will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and thrive in a busy and dynamic environment.
You will be interacting across a broad range of stakeholders and will be well-presented, highly professional and capable of effectively connecting at different levels across a large and diverse workplace. You will promote by example. Due to the nature of this role you will need to be capable of handling sensitive or confidential information.
Please note: You will need to hold a current unencumbered driver’s licence and be eligible to work in Australia and hold Permanent Residency.
