Our range of planting equipment is based on an extensive choice of Airseeders including products with Liquid capacity. About the Opportunity
Simplicity Australia has an opportunity for a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join the team in Dalby, QLD.
You will be primarily responsible for actively leading and working within the Engineering team, which is made up of 2 draftsman, 1 design draftsman and 1 postgraduate Engineer to ensure new and existing products are fully and correctly designed, detailed and documented.
Day-to-day duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Overseeing, completing and/or assisting in the design, development and research to progress Simplicity products and manufacturing process;
- Overseeing and completing the production of quality detailed drawings and related Bills of Materials for Planning/Purchasing/Sales to utilise within our MRP or Parts Book systems; and
- Administration of the Engineering team work flow, priorities and actively working to grow and develop the Engineering team capability and capacity.
About You
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a Mechanical Engineering role and hold Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering. You will have experience and knowledge based on working within the Australian manufacturing industry. As well as this, you must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of SolidWorks or a similar CAD system.
You will have the ability to work as a team leader, who can demonstrate management experience. This role involves working within a management team, where your capacity to develop key working relationships is important. You will be a confident people person with strong communication skills and the ability to interact successfully with the internal team stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be an analytical thinker, who enjoys working in a team environment, to see an overall result that your team has been part of completing. You will be willing to undertake long term projects that involve both product and system development, while advancing a strong Engineering team capacity with a healthy working culture.
This role would be well-suited to a mid-career Mechanical Engineer looking to take the next step in developing their career within a family owned and operated organisation.
