About the Opportunity

Knauf Australia currently has multiple opportunities for driven Production Operators to join their team in Matraville, Sydney, on a full-time basis. You will be working across rotating 12 hour shifts, approximately 2-4 days on/off each week.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for safely operating a range of plant and equipment in order to produce a quality plasterboard product.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Operating, observing and adjusting production equipment in order to produce a quality plasterboard product;
  • Routine quality control, reporting any issues to the Shift Supervisor;
  • Basic maintenance and troubleshooting; and
  • Forklift use.

You will undergo robust training and have extensive support in achieving the above.

Who is Knauf Looking For?

To be successful in this position you will have previous experience in manufacturing, with specific experience in a continuous manufacturing environment highly regarded.

You will have high-level communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a larger team.

Knauf is looking for someone with a genuine interest in learning new things and advancing in the role, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work and make sound decisions under pressure.

It is essential that you are committed to ensuring the safety of yourself and other team members, and are able and willing to adhere to Safe Work Procedures and standard operating conditions.

You will need a current forklift licence, or be willing and able to obtain this.

Please note: Due to the physical nature of these roles, it is essential that you are able to perform some manual handling and repetitive movements including continually walking up and down stairs, shovelling, chiseling and operating precision hand tools.

About the Benefits

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with a competitive hourly rate in addition to night and weekend loading as required. You'll enjoy the challenges and responsibilities that come from these advanced operational roles, whilst still having a great leadership support structure in place.

Additionally, you'll benefit from being part of a global organisation that can provide opportunities for on-going training and career development, that you may not have within other organisations.

This role offers a great career progression path into a supervisory/management position - in fact, three out of the four current Shift Supervisors in this plant started in the role of Production Operator themselves. If you have an interest in management or leadership in the future, this would be a great starting point.

If you're a driven problem-solver with an eye for detail and an interest in advancing your career, don't wait - Apply Now!
