About the Opportunity

Brave Energy Systems now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Project Manager to join their Project Delivery team in Melbourne on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer whilst forging a strong working relationship with the Product Delivery Manager, this dynamic role will see you working closely with the Product Development team on an established and ongoing regulatory driven software project.

Delivering software solutions to a range of large energy customers, you will be personally responsible for managing the software deliverables with a hybrid focus on product and customer.

More specifically, your key accountabilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Managing software deliverables to guide change and implementation and meet customer needs;
  • Ensuring effective project planning and execution by utilising relevant project management methodologies (PMBOK, Prince2 etc.);
  • Allocating and directing resources appropriately, in accordance with organisational policies and processes;
  • Mitigating risk and ensuring systems are aligned with targeted objectives and deadlines; and
  • Managing a wider team of stakeholders, from management and stream leads to developers and testers.

Please note: A potential rollover contract may be negotiated for the right candidate.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have extensive project management experience, preferably working within an IT or software development environment. Additionally, you will demonstrate a detailed understanding of formal project management methodologies and will have an innate ability to implement processes, drive resources, and assess risk.

Your strong technical skills will be an asset in this role and any understanding of software development products, most notably JIRA, will contribute towards your success. Qualifications/certifications in project management methodologies are essential. A tertiary qualification in software engineering/computer science or a related discipline is highly desirable, as is previous experience working in the Australian utilities sector.

As the successful candidate will be joining an established project, it will be expected that you will hit the ground running, contributing from the outset to the Project Delivery team's ability to implement change and manage software deliverables. 

With an impeccable attention to detail, influential communication skills and a willingness to engage, manage and lead a diverse team and wider range of stakeholders, you will be confident in your ability to integrate seamlessly into this established software project and into the Brave culture at large.
