About the Opportunity

inTouch has a new opportunity for a passionate Team Leader to join their Sector and Community team on a full-time basis. This is a fixed-term contract until June 2021, with the possibility of extension, and will require you to work across inTouch's two Melbourne offices, in Richmond and Dandenong.

Leading a small, passionate team, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of inTouch's sector development work, which aims to build the capacity of the both the service sector and multicultural communities to reduce the harm of family violence, with a focus on culturally responsive family violence practice and the specific needs of migrant and refugee communities.

Some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Coordinating the development, implementation and maintenance of the unit’s training and capacity building plan;
  • Providing leadership to the team including budgeting and reporting, staff recruitment and supervision, development of team plan, individual work plans and performance appraisals;
  • Developing strategies for monitoring and evaluating the quality and impact of training and capacity building initiatives;
  • Identifying any gaps or opportunities for new training areas or emerging areas of focus;
  • Building effective working relationships with relevant government and community organisations; and
  • Supporting the Executive Leadership Team in developing and maintaining a strong strategic focus that aligns with broader sector reform.

About You

To be considered for this position you will hold a certificate IV in Training and Assessment, with significant experience in training development, delivery and evaluation. An additional tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Development, Health Promotion or similar will be highly regarded.

Your project management experience will be essential, and you will have a proven ability to lead staff, manage budgets, and deliver timely and accurate reports. You'll also be highly organised, with an interest in innovation and continuous improvement.

With a strong commitment to leading by example, you will be capable of acting as an effective role model and foster a positive team environment that will balance individual and organisational needs as inTouch continues to grow. A confident and authentic communicator, you will be able to build strong positive relationships with a wide variety of both internal and external stakeholders. 

Importantly, you will be genuinely passionate about social justice and assisting migrant and refugee women and children. You will have an understanding of the gendered nature of family violence, specifically in the context of multicultural communities, and be committed to working within an intersectional feminist framework.

Prior to commencement, the successful candidates will hold (or willing to obtain) the following:

  • A current Victorian Driver's License;
  • A current Working With Children's' Check; and
  • A current National Criminal History Record Check.
