About the Opportunities

Emmy Monash are currently taking expressions of interest for experienced candidates interested in being considered for opportunities to join their facility in Caulfield North in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs as either Personal Care Assistants (PCAs), Endorsed Enrolled Nurses (EENs), or Registered Nurses (RNs).

These opportunities will see applicants join a casual pool of staff dedicated to providing a response to potential COVID-19 demand increases, and to cater for any other additional needs. Opportunities for permanency may be offered for the right candidates.

As a Personal Care Assistant, the responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Assisting residents with their activities for daily living (ADL);
  • Moving and shifting residents using appropriate hoists; and
  • Maintaining high quality infection control processes

As an Endorsed Enrolled Nursethe responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Ordering medication and providing it to residents;
  • Supervising PCA's where appropriate and directing workflow;
  • Assessing, observing and documenting residents and reporting changes to the RN;
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene needs whilst encouraging independence; and
  • Implementing clinical interventions as delegated by the RN on shift.

As a Registered Nursethe responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Allocating and leading nursing staff on shift while overseeing residents' care by effective supervision and staff delegation
  • Meeting residents daily needs in relation to nursing care;
  • Facilitating communication between staff, other health professionals and residents, including their representatives, and wider community stakeholders;
  • Ensuring extra precautions are implemented and maintained in regards to quarantine measures and/or restrictions; and
  • Making decisions under pressure concerning residents' health and wellbeing.

As these roles will likely exist in large part to cater for increased demand caused by potential COVID-19 quarantine measures, applicants must demonstrate an unwavering commitment to adhering to strict safety guidelines and polices. 

Is this Right for You?

Emmy Monash are currently looking for qualified candidates who are able to demonstrate previous experience working in the acute or aged care sectors to register their interest for future positions. These relevant qualifications are as follows:

  • PCAs must have completed a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing/Aged Care);
  • EENs must have completed a Diploma in Nursing and be AHPRA registered; and 
  • RNs must have completed a Bachelor of Nursing and be AHPRA registered with significant experience in the Aged Care sector.

Emmy Monash are seeking expressions of interest from people who display maturity, professionalism and an empathetic and patient manner. You will have a 'resident-focused' approach to care, be self-directed and have computer literacy at a level expected for these types of roles, and ideally, have an understanding of contemporary clinical best practices.

An existing understanding of the Jewish culture would be an advantage, but is not mandatory as long as you can demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural diversity, religious needs and life experiences of older Jewish people.
