About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing demand, Knauf currently has an opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join their manufacturing facility in Bundaberg, QLD on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of facility equipment and machinery used in the production of plasterboard.

Working on a shift roster, you will join a small team responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of the manufacturing facility.

Some of your key duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Undertaking general repairs and providing electrical assistance to production;
  • Completing a range of maintenance and routine inspection tasks;
  • Maintaining up-to-date equipment knowledge to provide timely solutions to problems (fault finding etc.);
  • Participating in continuous improvements and problem-solving initiatives;
  • Ensuring and maintaining compliance with safe work procedures; and
  • Maintaining flexibility to complete a varied range of facility duties as required.

Who is Knauf looking for?

To be considered for this role, you must be a trade qualified electrician with demonstrable post apprenticeship experience, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment as part of a continuous shift roster.

Additionally, a forklift licence and any experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), while not essential, would be seen as highly desirable.

As an experienced electrician, you will understand the importance of maintaining a high quality of work, and will be proactive in both developing effective relationships with production team members and undertaking repairs/identifying faults to facility machinery and equipment.

You welcome flexibility and variety in your work, completing a range of other duties not strictly limited to electrical work in order to ensure the safe and continuous operation of the facility.

As this is a fast paced manufacturing environment, your strong attention to detail and ability to operate at a productive pace for extended periods of time will go a long way to ensuring your success.
