ABLE Kids Speech partners for Paediatric SLP and OT with a number of local schools and childcare centres, providing services such as prep screening and teacher training. In clinic may be general language and articulation therapy or in their feeding clinic in which OT and SLP work together for advanced outcomes. ABLE Home Therapy through their home visiting Community OTs provide skill development therapy for their clients with a variety of disabilities, support on the care and manual handling needs of clients and carers for NDIS participants, AT selection, assessment / applications, some Veterans (through the Department of Veterans' Affairs), disability services, and other care agencies.

About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing growth, ABLE Therapy is looking for Occupational Therapists to join their team based in their North Lakes, Brisbane practice. Your choice of full-time, part-time, or flexible hours are available, depending on your needs.

Working in ABLE's community therapy team, you would be delivering Occupational Therapy services across North Brisbane, to clients 15 years and older. Travelling to client's homes to assist them in remaining independent in the community, a majority of clients will be NDIS participants, those with a disability, veterans, and some seniors (up to 65).

With the strong support of the administration team and therapy assistants, you'll be free to focus on the most important part of your role - supporting your clients. There's no risk of becoming bored, with a huge variety of work, and you'll be not only supported but encouraged to pursue any areas of interest or specialisations that appeal to you. The caseload is highly varied and designed to challenge OTs without overwhelming them.

Occupational Therapists of all experience levels are strongly encouraged to apply.

About You

To be successful, you will need to be a fully qualified Occupational Therapist and hold, or be willing and able to obtain, AHPRA registration. You'll ideally have experience in a private practice environment, however this is not essential, with ABLE open to newly qualified OTs, who would be well-supported with a formal training and development program, regular in-house mentoring, and ongoing support from highly experienced senior therapists.

You’ll be approachable, welcoming, and friendly, with the ability to connect with clients of all ages. Able to look at a complex problem and break it down into achievable 'chunks', you'll be confident helping your clients prioritise and meet their goals, providing expert guidance and advice to both clients and partnering agencies.

Importantly, you’ll have a sense of fun, with a passion for the services you provide and a commitment to ensuring each client receives the support and care they need to meet their therapy goals.

About the Benefits

If you’re looking to join an established private practice that offers fantastic variety and flexibility, look no further! ABLE staff enjoy flexible working arrangements, working around family or personal commitments, as well as unique leave options, including Time Off in Lieu - many of the team use this to take the first week of each school holiday off, for an additional 3 weeks leave each year, though ABLE is happy to work around your needs wherever possible.

On offer is an attractive hourly rate circa $35 - $50 per hour, highly negotiable based on your skills and experience, with regular pay reviews (typically twice a year). Additional performance-based incentives are available, based on agreed-upon and negotiable KPIs, which could greatly increase your take home rate!

Relocation assistance is negotiable, and, due to the current situation with COVID-19, ABLE is open to reimbursing the cost of any necessary self-isolation if coming from inter-state.

Working in a highly respected, multidisciplinary team, you'll benefit from full administrative support to ensure you can focus on what you do best. Their senior staff, each specialising in their own areas of interest, are available to provide mentoring and guidance, as well as a $2,000 annual professional development allowance and multiple formal training and development programs, for both new graduates and experienced therapists.

This is an incredible opportunity to join a well-established and highly-respected support service, offering fantastic opportunities to grow your skills and advance your career – Apply Now!
