About GTNT Group

GTNT Group was established in 1989 to support local individuals to gain quality training and employment opportunities. Now the largest employer of apprentices and trainees in the territory, they service both the private and public sectors, and provide additional tailored services such as recruitment, labour hire and training arrangements.

Responsible for the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN), through a dual contract with the NT and federal governments, they provide a range of services to both current and future employers and apprentices, including managing and processing training contracts, government incentives and apprentice and employer information.

About the Opportunity

GTNT Group currently has an excellent opportunity for an Field Solutions Officer to join their team in Alice Springs, NT on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the AASN Manager, you will be responsible for providing general support and case management to apprentices and employers, conducting regular field visits and check-ins as required.

More specifically, your day to day duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Conducting site visits and inspections, to monitor apprentices and employers in urban, regional, rural, and remote areas;
  • Preparing reports, inputing case notes into both NT and federal databases, and other administrative responsibilities as required;
  • Identifying and providing in-training support to eligible apprentices and employers;
  • Assisting employers and apprentices to complete their training contracts and other required documentation;
  • Handling complaints from employers or apprentices if required, mediating workplace disputes with support from the AASN Manager; and
  • Participating in promotion and marketing initiatives, including visits to schools or other venues as directed.

Whilst primarily based in Alice Springs, you will occasionally need to travel long distances for field visits or other relevant work, typically a maximum of 3-4 days a month. Depending on the location, this may require travelling via 4WD or light aircraft.

About You

GTNT Group is open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, provided you have strong attention to detail, and well-developed administration skills. A background in the employment, training or VET sectors would be highly regarded, as would any experience related to apprenticeships; whether you were an apprentice yourself or worked alongside them.

With effective communication and conflict resolution skills, you will be skilled in negotiation and be confident building relationships and liaising with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders. It's crucial that you have a genuine interest in seeing people succeed, and are committed to supporting your clients as they grow their skills into successful careers.

Highly organised, process driven, and willing to follow set procedures, you will be able to ensure strict compliance with all relevant legislation and contract requirements, not afraid to complete a range of administration and data entry tasks.

Often working autonomously, you'll be self motivated and a strong problem solver, able to set, achieve and report on targets and progress semi-autonomously. You will need a demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise with diverse client groups, particularly Indigenous Australians in an urban, rural or remote context.

Finally, you will be computer literate and comfortable using or learning a range of software.

Please note: Due to the nature of this role you will need a current, unrestricted driver's license and must hold, or be willing and able to obtain, a Working with Children (Ochre) card and police clearance.
