Kimberley Pharmacy Services have been proudly serving the Kimberley region across three efficient and newly automated outlets, in Broome, Derby and Fitzroy Valley, for several years.

With a strong community focus and commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care, Kimberley Pharmacy Services provides medication and pharmacy services to individuals and families, as well as local hospitals and Aboriginal Medical Services.

About the Opportunity

Due to sustained growth, Kimberley Pharmacy Services now has a senior opportunity for a business-minded Managing Pharmacist/Operations Manager to join their team in Broome, WA on a full-time ongoing basis.

Reporting to the Directors, you will have an overarching responsibility for coordinating and managing the operations of Kimberley Pharmacy Services outlets, particularly Broome and Fitzroy Crossing. Broome is a community pharmacy, packing facility and clinical services provider, Fitzroy Crossing is a pharmacy within the hospital.

Your role scope will encompass, but will not be confined to:

  • Implementing and monitoring all organisational policies and directives, in line with the strategic plan;
  • Ensuring all clinic orders are dispatched in an accurate and timely fashion, and maintaining communications between pharmacy and clinics;
  • Ensuring the completion of monthly reports and completing/overseeing S100 claims audits;
  • Overseeing clinical KPIs for pharmacists; and
  • Managing pharmacy staff, including internal workflow and task allocation, and coordinating relevant training and identifying training needs;

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified Pharmacist with current AHPRA registration and demonstrable management experience in a pharmacy based role, and ideally, a background in or skills related to, clinical pharmacy, including medication reviews.

While not essential, any experience or understanding of remote and Aboriginal health will help you transition into this operations focused role, particularly as you develop a knowledge of the complex health system in the Kimberly region.

As an experienced manager and professional, your ability to engage and build rapport with both staff and external stakeholders, including a range of state and federal funding bodies, and local community/health-based organisations, through clear and active communication, will be crucial to your success.

Moreover, you will need to have a high business acuity, with a large part of your role being structured around policy implementation, management and governance, and the fluidity necessary to adopt pre-existing processes into your daily work.
