About the Opportunity

Akron Group now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Quality & Compliance Manager to join their team in Darwin, NT.

Reporting to the General Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the implementation of Quality and Compliance systems at all levels and locations of the company.

Your key duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Managing training, including position needs analysis, training needs analysis, booking internal and external training, inducting new employees and maintaining records of training in the database;
  • Ensuring incidents are reported and investigated, and initiating corrective and preventative action through to completion;
  • Ensuring emergency response plans are in place and tested, including managing all emergency response equipment;
  • Providing QSE advice and reports for managers and clients as required;
  • Carrying out inspections, internal audits and WHS consultations;
  • Creating and completing safe work method statements, plant risk assessments and other relevant QSE documentation and records;
  • Representing the company at third party audits, client audits and client meetings; and
  • Creating or assisting with the creation of project and contract management plans, report templates, project inductions, checklists, forms and other QSE related documents.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have a minimum of 5 years exposure to the construction and maintenance industry and an understanding of Australian standards, WHS and environmental legislation and client specifications.

You must have excellent time management and communication skills with the ability to work independently and under direction. Competence with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn other software packages will also be essential to your success in this role.

Internal Audit qualifications, a Certificate 4 or higher in WHS or 10275NAT course in Workplace Drug Testing would be desirable.

This position will suit a self-starter who enjoys autonomy and initiating solutions. Akron Group is looking for a fast mover who is confident communicating across all levels of the organisation and who has a can-do attitude!
