 About the Opportunity

SHDH now has an exciting opportunity for an AHPRA registered Dentist and Senior Dentist to join their progressive Medical Centre on a full-time basis. 

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be providing direct patient care assessing and treating patients within a half hour appointment system, with longer appointments made as needed Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Although the majority of patient work will be conducted in the dental clinic, you will also have the opportunity to treat patients under general anaesthesia at the Swan Hill Hospital on a monthly basis. You will be on a rotating roster for emergency call-out services for the hospital to provide direction on how best to treat acute dental issues presented after hours.

The Dentist will assist in providing leadership and work closely with other members of the dental team (Dentists, Clinic Coordinator, Dental Therapists, Dental Assistants and Administration) to ensure eligible members of the community have access to respectful, high quality and efficient public dental services.

The Senior Dentist will provide advanced clinical leadership to other dental staff and less experienced dentists in accordance with DHSV clinical standards and policies to ensure the implementation, maintenance and provision of high quality and efficient services for patients.

About You

The ideal candidate for the Dentist position will have a minimum of two years post graduate experience, and a minimum of three years experience as a Dentist for the Senior position.

You will have a current Radiation Licence to carry out Dental Radiation Practice and an understanding of and adherence to the legislation and regulations that govern Dentists in Victoria. 

Both successful candidates will have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with patients from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and patients from various special needs groups. A true team player, you will be able to work within a tight knit team and be excited to positively contribute to the community.

The Senior Dental Officer will have demonstrated high level knowledge of the management of dental public health programs including ability to provide leadership for dental staff.

Please note: To be considered for this position you must be registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), full Australian working rights and consent to a police check.

Competitive salary packages on offer circa $131,123 to $159,053, negotiable on experience plus an estimated $7,000 in private fee bonus per month.
