About the Organisation

Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW - Northern Region (RFCS) is a not-for-profit organisation that hosts government funded programs to foster regional economic development in the north eastern region of New South Wales.  

They have experienced Rural Financial Counsellors and Small Business Financial Counsellors based in Armidale, Casino, Glen Innes, Grafton, Gunnedah, Inverell, Macksville, Moree, Narrabri, Scone, Tamworth, Taree and Tocal, with their team of specialists servicing the regions surrounding these locations. They provide confidential, free and impartial rural and small business financial counselling service to primary producers, fishers, harvesters and eligible small businesses who are experiencing financial difficulties, and due to recent events, including the drought, bushfires, floods and COVID-19 pandemic, demand has been rapidly growing for their services.

About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing growth, Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW has a new opportunity for a Digital Marketer to join the team at their new head office in Lismore. This is a short-term contract position, finishing on the 30th of June 2021.

Working with stakeholders across RFCS, you will be developing a full digital marketing plan for the organisation, undertaking a review of their existing website and other digital channels to identify trends, evaluate performance, and optimise their marketing funnels.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and executing all digital marketing activities, including SEO/SEM, email, web, social media and display advertising campaigns;
  • Measuring and reporting on the performance of campaigns, assessing against performance and ROI goals;
  • Updating the RFCS website, creating landing pages, and building and maintaining their social media presence;
  • Executing paid search ads (Google Ads), reviewing SEO opportunities and recommending solutions or improvements;
  • Creating written and visual digital content, in line with the latest trends and current best practice in online marketing; and
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders throughout RFCS, driving engagement and enthusiasm for digital marketing initiatives across the organisation.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need significant experience in digital marketing, ideally in the not for profit or community services sector.

A unique, newly created role for the organisation, you'll need a proven track record of success, with strong experience in Facebook marketing and advertising, SEO, and email marketing (preferably Mailchimp), along with sound knowledge of best practice in graphic design, copywriting and layout design.

With strong analytical skills, you'll be able to utilise a range of media platforms and tools to evaluate the customer experience across multiple channels and touch points, identifying areas of improvement and discovering key trends or insights.

A strong and effective communicator, able to build relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, you'll understand how to adapt your approach for each individual, confident managing differing personalities and priorities to ensure the best marketing outcomes for RFCS.

Any experience with primary producers or rural/regional businesses would be highly regarded, though not essential provided you're passionate about quality, effective marketing and are genuinely keen to be part of an organisation that's providing free, much needed support for rural Australians.

You would also have access to generous salary sacrificing options, up to $15,999 plus an additional $2,600 for meals, accommodation and entertainment, hugely increasing your take home salary with effectively no tax to pay over the course of this short-term contract.
