About the Organisation
Hill End Gold Limited (HEG) is a rapidly expanding gold mining company with a clear focus on increasing resources and gold production at its Hill End and Hargraves Projects in New South Wales.
The project tenements in New South Wales are located between the regional centres of Bathurst and Mudgee and include the rich historical Hill End, Hargraves and Windeyer Goldfields, which together were one of the world's richest gold mining areas. The tenements have historically produced over two million ounces of gold and are believed to have potential for a further 4 - 5 million ounces.
The Hill End Project is currently being expanded from a small underground and processing operation based on the Hawkins Hill - Reward deposit at Hill End and the surface drillout of the Hargraves Project, 35km north of Hill End, has commenced, with initial mining planned for next year.
About the Opportunities
Due to expansion of activity, Hill End Gold Limited has an exciting and rare opportunity for an Underground Mining Engineer to join the Hill End / Hargraves Projects.
Working within a small dynamic team, you will play an integral role in the reopening of these historic goldfields. Specifically, using your experience and expertise, you will be responsible for the design, planning, supervision and development of the Hill End and Hargraves Projects.
As a key member of the project team, your core duties will include:
- Proactively supporting all company environmental and safety initiatives on site;
- Assisting in the establishment of a mine plan and schedules consistent with objectives;
- Identifying cost saving and production efficiency opportunities and evaluating results;
- Providing technical support and assistance to the underground operations;
- Supervising projects inline with the business objectives and planning cycles;
- Developing project schedules and budgets that support business objectives; and
- Liaising with Operations, Administration and key stakeholders to ensure progress.
To achieve in this vital role, you will have extensive underground operating and planning experience, in addition to comprehensive knowledge of relevant mining software.
Project management skills and the capacity to inspire a team will be key, as will the demonstrated ability to influence others, set out structured work plans and meet project time lines and budgets, through the motivation and organisation of a high performance team.
Strong verbal and written communication is essential to all roles as there will be occasions when you will be liaising with mining related personnel. An understanding of mining efficiency, cost revenue and contract management will also be held in high regard.

The successful candidate will be rewarded an attractive remuneration package circa $100,000 - $130,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
