The Alex Fraser Group is engaged in four strategic activities: construction and demolition materials recycling, specialist industrial demolition; environmental remediation services; and asphalt production and paving. We operate four production facilities in Melbourne, three in Brisbane and employ around 200 people. We have offices in Laverton North in Melbourne and Eagle Farm in Brisbane.

Alex Fraser Group has a great opportunity for a Weighbridge Operator to join their Melbourne team.

Based at Epping in Melbourne, the weighbridge office is the contact point for all incoming and outgoing trucks. It is a bustling and dynamic environment essential to the safe movement of customers and suppliers into and out of the site. There is no such thing as an average day.

In this permanent role you will operate a computerised weighbridge dispatch system to control incoming deliveries of concrete and outgoing sales of recycled aggregates. You will liaise with the customer service centre, the production plant and the transport allocator to ensure customer orders are filled and dispatched on time. You will use the two-way radio to communicate with earthmoving machines to ensure the correct products are loaded on to customer trucks. You will also manage cash and credit card sales.

We offer an hourly rate of $20.38 plus $17.00 per day travel allowance and overtime. Weekday hours are 6.30 am to 3.30pm. You will also be required to work a half day Saturday.

Weighbridge experience will be highly regarded. Customer service, communication and scheduling skills are essential. Experience in the construction industry or with logistics and dispatch will be highly relevant.
