About the Organisation
Based in Proserpine, Grays has been fabricating roof trusses for 30 years. The plant currently operates 2 jigs with plans to introduce wall frames later this year. Hardwood and pine trusses are fabricated for the residential and commercial markets.
Grays is more than a truss plant. Although no longer sawmilling, the company has the facilities to resaw timber, and can treat, kiln dry and dress.

About the Opportunity
Grays has an opportunity for a Roof Truss Detailer/Estimator to join their team in Proserpine.
If you are experienced in Detailing and Estimating roof trusses and wall frames, this is your chance to join a well established, highly respected family firm. The primary aim of this role will be to estimate and detail roof trusses, liaise with clients and oversee production.
Within your day, you will take on responsibilities such as:
- Liaising with clients;
- Estimating/Detailing;
- Production scheduling;
- Quality control;
- Supervising truss fabrication staff; and
- Ordering stock (plates and timber).
If you have an excellent attention to detail, work in a timely and professional manner and enjoy working with clients, this could be the role for you.
The ideal candidate will have experience with estimating and detailing for both commercial and residential roof trusses. Familiarity with MiTek 20/20 will be well regarded.
Importantly, you will demonstrate a sense of urgency to respond to client's needs. Grays is looking for a confident, well organised applicant who has sufficient experience to work autonomously, and is prepared to train others in estimating/detailing.
This is a full time role in a comfortable office environment that involves regular hours, 8am - 5pm, Mon - Fri.
