About the Opportunity
STEPS is growing, and as a result is seeking two full time Workplace Assessors for their Melbourne team. These roles will be based in North Melbourne but will require travel throughout Victoria (and possibly northern NSW).
One role will cover the Eastern side of Victoria - Bayside, Plenty, Maroondah, Monash, Peninsula, Latrobe Valley, East Gippsland, Kiewa, Ovens and Goulburn Valley. The other will cover Western Victoria - Yarra, Calder, Westgate, Bendigo, Geelong, Hampden, Western District, Eureka, Grampians, Mid Murray, Sunraysia.
As part of a national panel of assessors, your main aim will be to conduct Supported Wage, Ongoing Support and Workplace Modification assessments in accordance with contractual guidelines.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will be to:
- Supported Wage Assessment
- Identify and consult with all relevant parties (i.e. DES, SWMU, the union, employer and participant etc.) to determine requirements prior to conducting assessments
- Conduct initial productivity assessments and 12 month re-assessments (where applicable)
- Compile and submit wage assessment results to relevant parties, including the SWMU, Industrial Court, employer, participant and DES
- Ongoing Support Assessment
- Undertake OSA Assessments to ascertain the participant’s ongoing support needs by interviewing program providers and reviewing relevant documents, interviewing the participant and their employer, and conducting a workplace assessment of the participant
- Workplace Modifications
- Conduct workplace assessments, within the scope of the incumbent’s knowledge and experience, for the purpose of determining a suitable match between the participant, their job and the workplace modification
- Undertake relevant administrative tasks, ensuring all documentation is created, maintained and stored in accordance with contractual guidelines and the requirements of STEPS
You will require practical experience in disability employment (or another relevant sector). A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Assessment and Workplace Training would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
STEPS is seeking candidates with a knowledge and understanding of industry building and access codes, employment assistance options available to people with disabilities, and relevant OH&S, industrial relations and anti-discrimination legislation.
Key to your success in this position will be a flexible and enthusiastic approach to your work, strong communication and organisational skills, excellent assessment and report-writing skills, and the proven ability to work independently and as part of a high performing team.
A current C Class driver's licence and Criminal History Check are essential.
This varied position offers much more than a 'desk job' by giving you the opportunity to get out of the office! Although you will be based at the North Melbourne site, extensive travel throughout your designated territory in Victoria and possibly northern NSW is required.
In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with a competitive base salary circa $51,915.77 + 9% super. Salary sacrificing options also exist, to increase your take-home pay.
