About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Disability Employment Services (DES) Coordinator to join Employment Focus's dedicated team in Box Hill and Heidelberg.

This role can either be filled on a Full Time or Part Time basis, negotiable to the wishes of the right applicant.

The primary aim of this role is to coordinate the activities of the DES Team in order to maximise employment and training opportunities and outcomes for job seekers with a disability who are undertaking customised assistance services.

This is a multi-faceted role in which you will oversee the activities of the DES Team, as well as lead by example in a hands-on capacity, including supporting job seekers to become job ready, actively placing clients into employment, and 'reverse marketing' job seekers to suitable employers.

Some of your more specific day-to-day duties will be to:

  • Lead, monitor, focus, motivate, train and ensure staff achieve all DEEWR Contract key performance indicators and set organisational targets in a team based approach;
  • Develop Employment Pathway Plans (EPP's) with job seekers undertaking intensive support pursuant to DEN services;
  • Enter timely Placement Claims information on EA3000 System in order to receive payments;
  • Maintain file notes and other documentation required under the Employment Services contract and DSS Standards; and
  • Oversee the Reverse Marketing function of the DEN team to promote clients to employers for specific jobs by a variety of methods including cold canvas telephone marketing, cold canvassing letters and personal canvassing of employers where appropriate.

You will be highly organised with a background in Employment Services (preferably Disability Employment Services), and experience in staff management. You will need sound existing knowledge of the Australian labour market, computer literacy in MS Word and EA3000, and a good understanding of government employment and training assistance programs and contract obligations.

An ambitious, self-motivated and results-oriented leader, your Employment Services experience will be supported by excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and innovative marketing flair. You will also be skilled in networking and building business relationships, and have a demonstrated ability to work well in a dynamic team environment, as well as the ability to work to deadlines, and meet performance targets.

Applicants will need the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including people displaying challenging social and personal behaviours, and you will have an understanding and empathy with people who have been unemployed for long periods.

You will need a current driver's licence and be willing to undertake a current ‘Working with Children' Police Check.

This position will see you working both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. Career-focused applicants will receive fantastic support from Employment Focus, including the opportunity to advance within the dynamic organisation.

The successful candidate will enjoy an attractive salary, negotiable on qualifications and experience, as well as additional benefits including a vehicle allowance, phone and laptop and the option to salary sacrifice up to $16,050. Employment Focus believes in work/life balance and this role offers attractive, negotiable work hours.

This is an exciting, rewarding and diverse role and offers great benefits and a value-based work environment.
