Centacare Upper Mary Valley Care is a provider of community care services to communities through the Kenilworth and Sunshine hinterland communities. It maintains a range of services that focus on maintaining clients in their own home and community. The Service is currently funded by a number of Government Funding agencies across both state and federal spheres.

About the Opportunity

Due to continual expansion, Centacare has a fantastic opportunity for a Part Time Service Manager to join the Kenilworth team.

Working 60 hours per fortnight, your role will focus on managing Centacare Upper Mary Valley Care to ensure the services offered are professionally developed, implemented and reflective of the Organisational Relationships and Framework.

The successful candidate will lead a management team to support an infrastructure of people and resources delivering services to over 100 socially and geographically isolated clients.

In achieving this, some of your duties will include:

  • Undertaking projects including planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating;
  • Financial management;
  • Exercising judgement and initiative where procedures are not clearly defined;
  • Undertaking responsibility for communicating to all stakeholders in a consultative manner using a variety of methods and responding within agreed timeframes;
  • Monitoring and interpreting legislation, regulations and other agreements relating to occupational health and safety, worker's compensation and rehabilitation;
  • Planning, coordinating and administering the operation of a multi-functional service including financial management and reporting;
  • Carrying out planning, studies or research for particular projects and recommendations; and
  • Planning, developing and operating a community service organisation of a moderately complex nature.

 

The Ideal Candidate

Centacare is looking for a dedicated individual who is genuinely committed to enhancing the quality of life for people within community care programs. The organisation is looking for a candidate with a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Social or Behavioural Science or Business Management) and/or an equivalent level of expertise to undertake the range of goals required.

To succeed in this role you will have the proven ability to manage and lead a workforce in a rural setting. You will have the demonstrated ability to control aspects of the service such as the planning and review functions of the Quality and Accreditation Standards, the financial management, and the information resources and property assets required for service delivery.

The successful applicant will have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, with proven skills in decision making and problem solving. You will have the ability to work autonomously, with sound skills in the use of Microsoft software packages.

The ideal candidate will have a non-judgemental attitude, and an understanding of the lifestyle support associated with community living.

You will need to possess from commencement:

  • a current First Aid Certificate;
  • a current driver's licence;
  • a Police Check; and
  • a current Disability Services Queensland Criminal History Screening (must be willing to obtain one before commencing employment).

This role is for 60 hours per fortnight, with some flexibility in shifts to suit your lifestyle and other commitments.

You will enjoy a competitive remuneration package circa $63,082 - $75,312 (pro rata) + super. Salary sacrifice options will be negotiated with the successful candidate, including a fully maintained company vehicle for personal use, a laptop and a mobile phone.
