About the Opportunity
Lifeline Community Care North Queensland has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Clinical Supervisor to join their team in Townsville.
The purpose of this position is to provide leadership, support and individual professional supervision to the face-to-face counselling staff and to provide expert consultancy and specialist advice and guidance to counsellors and other staff.
Reporting to Lifeline Community Care North Queensland's General Manager, your more specific duties will include:
- Designing, implementing, managing, leading and review contemporary clinical and practice supervision processes, structures and strategies;
- Managing a caseload of, and facilitating direct clinical supervision of, counsellors and other practitioners;
- Managing and implementing a Telephone Crisis Counselling supervision system;
- Providing internal professional individual supervision and debriefing to Counsellors, Telephone Counsellors and other staff; and
- Networking and acting as a catalyst for continuation of referrals to the service.
For this role, it is essential the successful applicant has tertiary qualifications in psychology, counselling, social work or equivalent (e.g. social or behavioural sciences), as well as practical experience.
Eligibility for registration and/or membership of a relevant professional association is desirable.
You will require clinical knowledge and experience in the application of effective counselling models, processes, theories and techniques and the ability to apply this knowledge and experience to client management processes.
As well as a background within the sector, LCCQ is seeking an experienced leader with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to conduct training needs analysis, plan and deliver training, and evaluate training effectiveness.
All applicants must hold a current driver's licence, and be willing to undergo a Working With Children Check and criminal history check.
