About the Opportunity

If you have great customer service and problem solving skills, Simon National Carriers have an opportunity for a Technology Support Officer to join their Toowoomba team.

This varied role will be primarily responsible for providing network and systems support to users in a networked, multi-site environment across Australia.

More specifically, some of the your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and maintaining information technology networks, systems and equipment;
  • End user support in systems use and applications including Microsoft Office;
  • Technical support for a variety of systems including security, document management, telephones and fleet tracking; and
  • Other IT and related tasks and project work as required.

Simon National Carriers are interested in receiving applications from candidates with experience in the following, to the level of implementation and technical support:

  • Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Exchange Server 2007, Terminal Services, Virtual Server 2008, SQL Server 2005 and 2008;
  • The implementation and technical support of the Office 2007 suite of products; and
  • Networking.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in providing high quality support and customer service to users in person, via email and via telephone. Experience installing and maintaining Information Technology networks, systems and equipment across multiple-sites, as well as a capacity to manage competing demands and to prioritise work is essential.

This role will require you to solve and trouble shoot problems based on analysis, experience and judgment. As a result, high levels of initiative, self-motivation, professionalism, customer service and verbal and written communication skills are required.

Candidates with formal IT qualifications will be highly regarded, however this is not essential. As some travel may be required, a driver's licence is also desirable.
