About the Opportunity

The Richmond Fellowship of New South Wales has exciting opportunities for both full-time and part-time Community Mental Health Support Workers to join their energetic team in Dubbo.  This position will be for a 12 month closed period.

Your role will focus on supporting people with psychiatric disabilities and mental health problems living in their own homes. Through skill development, community access, community participation, and promoting opportunities for people with disabilities, you will enhance opportunities for independent living. The care and support you will provide are tailored to meet the varied needs of the individual.

Ideally you will have previous experience and/or qualifications in the areas of Community Work, Mental Health and/or Welfare, however if not, you will have a genuine interest in working within the mental health sector and a willingness to complete a Certificate IV in Mental Health Work (Non Clinical).

It is essential that applicants possess a current NSW Driver's Licence and have the right to work in Australia.

Importantly, you will be a caring and understanding individual, with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, as well as effective organisational skills, good problem solving skills and the ability to work in challenging situations. You will also be able to demonstrate a practical and optimistic approach, ability to work effectively within a team environment as well as independently, and have good computer skills.
