About the Opportunity

Comdain Homes is one of Melbourne's leading builders of Boutique Custom Homes. The company has built its reputation on continued delivery of quality dwellings and industry leading customer service.

Due to the organisation's solid sustainable growth, Comdain has an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to join their Melbourne team.

Within this pivotal role, you will work as part of the Production Estimating team to provide efficient and accurate quotations for clients.

Specifically, your duties will include:

  • Negotiating with suppliers & sub-contractors;
  • Generating purchase orders;
  • Developing Bill of Quantities;
  • Conducting take offs;
  • Preparing and maintaining a directory of suppliers and sub-contractors;
  • Costing effective labour and material; and
  • Ensuring budgets are met.

To be suitable for this you will have experience working in a similar role in residential projects and a relevant building-related tertiary qualification. You will have strong computer literacy in general, while a background using Databuild software or similar will be looked upon favourably.

You will have a logical, precise and thorough approach to your work, with an emphasis on attention to detail. Additionally, you will have solid communication and organisational skills, with the demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment, and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. The successful applicant will demonstrate enthusiasm in their work, good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
