About the Opportunity

Peer Support Australia has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Teacher to join their Brookvale team as a Training and Development Consultant.

Reporting to the Training and Development Manager and the General Manager, this pivotal position will primarily aim to identify and deliver training and professional development in the Peer Support Program. The successful candidate will also promote Peer Support Australia and the program to school communities in various ACT and NSW regions. 

It will be your responsibility to deliver programs that are innovative and relevant and that meet the expectations of students and clients. It is vital that you be able to present these programs confidently and to a very high standard.

More specifically your duties will include:

  • Delivering training;
  • Increasing the number of schools participating in Peer Support Australia initiatives;
  • Evaluating, developing and trialing learning modules;
  • Researching focus areas;
  • Maintaining accurate records, including database content; and
  • Maintaining professional links and support networks within education sectors.

Peer Support Australia is interested in receiving applications from confident and well-presented candidates with tertiary qualifications in education or in a relevant field. You will have five years experience teaching in NSW schools (preferably Primary School, though High School Teachers will also be considered) and understand the NSW education curricula. You will also have a demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs and training initiatives.

Peer Support Australia is looking for someone who has the passion and the drive to hit the ground running and to make the job their own!

It is vital that the successful candidate has the ability to deliver presentations to groups of adults in a confident and professional manner. Accordingly, strong presentation skills are a necessity.

A commitment to complete Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is required, as is a current drivers licence and Australian residency.

This role will suit an applicant with outstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with staff, management and clients at all levels. Ideally, you will have experience in group facilitation (particularly in teaching adults), problem solving and possess proven experience in Microsoft Office programs.

The successful candidate will also possess a "hands on" approach and be willing to undertake some interstate travel.

This position will see you working both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.  You will receive fantastic support from Peer Support Australia, including the opportunity to expand your qualifications and grow the dynamic organisation. 

The successful candidate will enjoy attractive remuneration of up to $75,000, which includes superannuation
