About the Opportunity

Glenview is currently embarking on a new and exciting phase which will involve qualified care staff administering medication, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, to residents in accordance with the new Guidelines for Medication Administration. As such, energetic and motivated Lifestyle Workers are required for the Glenorchy operations.

These varied positions are directly responsible to the Director of Client Services, in collaboration with the nurse in charge, and the successful candidates will use all their skills on a daily basis to provide holistic personal support services and assist in planning and providing a creative range of activities to enhance the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of clients.

Some of your more specific day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care to residential clients whilst planning and delivering a creative range of activities to enhance their physical, mental and spiritual well being;
  • Displaying patience, respect and empathy for all Glenview clients and their families particularly in times of illness, weakness and frailty and during the dying process;
  • Ensuring an environment that provides for high quality personal care services, recreational, leisure and social interaction;
  • Participating in a program of continuous improvement of all lifestyle and support programs and functions at Glenview;
  • Identifying changing needs and priorities of the clients and adapt programs to best meet client needs including providing relevant and timely advice to the nurses on all residential client support requirements, equipment, facilities and access to allied health professionals;
  • Committing to all aspects of compliance with ACFI, accreditation and other relevant industry standards; and
  • Contributing to a safe workplace through adherence to all Glenview OH&S policies and procedures and a demonstrated commitment to OH&S improvements.

Glenview is seeking candidates with appropriate qualifications (e.g. Certificate –III in Aged Care or equivalent) and skills/experience in client-directed care management and who have completed the nationally accredited competency unit, Assisting Clients with Medication or equivalent, or provide a commitment to complete the module within 4 months of the commencement of such training.

You will enjoy the fantastic support from management, while being encouraged, prepared and supported to try new things. You will require well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, as you liaise with other service providers, clients' families and members of the community. You will be familiar with Microsoft Office programs and be comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team.

Glenview is seeking candidates who can provide a National Police Certificate and are computer literate due to the nature of the position.
