About the Opportunity

The Southbank Institute of Technology has an exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic Anaesthetics Teacher to join their Brisbane team.

In this role, you will be providing educational direction and support to students and staff. In addition to your teaching duties, you will also contribute to high quality client services including:

  • Ensuring availability to answer client enquiries;
  • Contributing to improving the quality of curriculum and other teaching resources and materials;
  • Attending Institute meetings and being involved in relevant projects; and
  • Ensuring all administrative processes associated with assessment results are completed in accordance with specified timelines.

The successful candidate will require a Diploma of Paramedical Science (Anaesthesia) or equivalent; a minimum of 5 years full-time post qualification experience and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Additionally, your commitment to self-development will be demonstrated by current professional affiliations; current or recent practical industry experience; recent training (formal or informal) undertaken; attendance at seminars and conferences; and development and presentation of academic or industry papers.

The successful applicant will possess leadership qualities and demonstrate their ability to implement new initiatives as well as establish and/or maintain links with relevant industry or community groups. You will also be able to develop or contribute to the development of teaching resources and possess knowledge of the VET sector, AQF and contemporary reforms in education and training.

Most importantly you will have experience in delivering instruction in a classroom, workplace or flexible learning situation and an understanding and application of contemporary teaching and learning practices.

Please note this position is temporary full time or part time until 30 June 2011 with the possibility of extension.
