About the Opportunities

Community Bridging Services Inc. (CBS) is seeking full time Case Managers to join its client focused team in Adelaide.  CBS is funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) to provide Disability Employment Services.  These new positions are located north and south of the city.

You will be responsible for the implementation of the Jobnet Employment Program for clients in a designated region under the guidance of a Jobnet Coordinator. The aim of the program is to support clients to find open employment by focusing on their strengths and interests and improving their vocational and community independence skills.

More specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Pre-employment preparation and arranging training;
  • Vocational and non-vocational interventions to address barriers;
  • Employment planning;
  • Job search; and
  • Post placement support for clients who have a disability/disadvantage.

It is desirable, but not essential that you have qualifications in the area of disability, education, community development, counselling or similar human services.

Experience in working with individuals with a disability/disadvantage or experience in education, employment, personal development and/or recreation will be an advantage. Knowledge of the Equal Opportunity and the Disability Discrimination Act is needed. A CBS employee needs to have an understanding of the effects of disability/disadvantage on individuals, families and the community and a knowledge of vocational development, further education and/or recreation.

You will need to be able to work effectively within a team and possess good organisation and time management skills. You will also be able to assess the interests and abilities of clients, possess communication and interpersonal skills to effectively relate to clients, their families, advocates or carers and able to communicate and establish networks with colleagues, community, employers and government agencies. 

In addition, you will possess a current driver's licence and will be willing to undergo a Police and Criminal History Check before you begin employment. Your start date cannot be until after the police check is received. CBS does not accept police checks that are over 6 months old.

The successful applicant will be rewarded with a remuneration package of $36,276 - $38,278 plus 9% super. In addition you will also receive salary sacrifice options to significantly increase your take home pay (by reducing the amount of tax you pay), and a mobile phone allowance.

Working as part of a close-knit, supportive group, you will benefit from a healthy work/life balance with mostly 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday hours and variety in your day as you will spend approximately 50% of your time in the office and the remainder out with clients. CBS has one of the lowest staff to client ratios in this industry.
