About the Opportunity

If you're truly child focused and believe in childcare being a professional career, an exciting position for a State Manager - Child Care (on a replacement employee contract), has become available at Centacare Tasmania Childcare Services.

As an Acting State Manager of Childcare Services, you will fulfill all functions of the State Manager whilst they are on maternity leave.  This opportunity is tailored for a truly child focused individual who wishes to assist Centacare Tasmania develop their view of child care as a professional career. 

Centacare Tasmania is establishing a network of Out of School Hours child care services based at Catholic schools throughout Tasmania.  The State Manager of Centacare Child Care Services is responsible for the implementation and subsequent operation of this new network administration, under the guidance of the Director of Centacare Tasmania and the Archdiocese of Hobart.  With multiple sites across Tasmania, which are already operating with local managers, the service is expanding further.

This role requires a highly organised candidate with experience in managing child care programs, including all associated reporting. Within each day you will be communicating with a diverse range of people, both parents, employees, Government agencies and other departments within the Archdiocese of Hobart, so you must be a highly effective communicator, in written, verbal and interpersonal capacities. If you excel in problem solving, multi-tasking, and finding creative solutions this role will suit you.

The successful candidate will possess:

    * A minimum of a Diploma of Child Care or Tertiary Teaching Degree
    * Significant experience in a Directors or Management role of a Childcare Service
    * Computer/ administration experience
    * Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills including conflict resolution
    * Current Child Care Safety Screening
    * The ability to adapt to change and lead a dynamic team
    * Current Drivers licence
