About the Opportunity
Allied Express has an excellent opportunity for a number of enthusiastic owner/drivers to join its growing team based in Adelaide as Courier Drivers, on your choice of a Full Time, Part Time or Casual basis. (Must have your own vehicle)
The main aim of these roles is to deliver parcels within Adelaide's metropolitan area within specific time frames, while providing quality customer service.
Positions exist driving either a 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8 tonne vehicle. Within these roles, you will be delivering to private residences and businesses throughout the day, interacting and representing the organisation to people from all walks of life, which will give you a chance to demonstrate your excellent customer service skills.
These are roles containing a high degree of autonomy, as Courier Drivers will liaise with Dispatch Operators in the course of their working day, but will effectively manage their own schedule on the road. The company is therefore searching for trustworthy applicants with excellent communication and time management skills.
In-depth knowledge of the Adelaide CBD would also be advantageous, and applicants must have an excellent grasp of the English language.
The successful applicants will have a current driver's licence, and will provide their own mode of transport (clean and reliable late model vehicle). Allied Express has a longstanding deal with a rental company, so a cheaper deal can be arranged if you need to hire a vehicle.
Allied Express encourages its Courier Drivers to treat their workloads as their own "business within the business". Due to the nature of this role, you will need to have a valid ABN and be registered for GST.
