About the Opportunity
STEPS has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Employer Engagement Consultant to join their enthusiastic team in Caloundra to position STEPS as a preferred Employment Service provider.
Reporting to the Team Leader - Employment, the main aim of this role is to engage employers to identify and meet skills shortages and labour force needs, and to achieve sustainable employment for STEPS job seekers.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be to:
- Research and analyse the needs of the Labour Market Region (LMR) and Employment Services Area (ESA)
- Research and understand social and economic environments
- Research and identify skills shortages and labour market demands/needs for targeted industries within the ESA
- Develop partnerships with employers and work closely with them to gain a full understanding of their business and labour force requirements and specific job requirements
- Research community resources available to support business or position requirements and facilitate access to these resources and to the Employer Incentives Scheme
- Organise and/or attend events to facilitate networking and education about STEPS, the services it provides and the capability of job seekers
- Identify and develop business relationships by keeping abreast of social and economic development in the ESA
The successful candidate requires a qualification (Certificate IV minimum) in Employment Services, Business Sales, Marketing or another related field OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
STEPS is looking for a people-person with employer engagement experience in an employment services / recruitment environment, and knowledge of local industries and labour market trends.
You will require strong communication, research and computer skills, as well as the ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge on market trends.
A current driver's licence, criminal history check and 'Working with Children' Blue Card are essential.
