About Kirinari Community Services  

Kirinari Community Services was established in Albury/Wodonga in 1988 to provide quality support services for people with disabilities. The organisation today has services throughout North East Victoria, Murray Riverina, Northern NSW, Blue Mountains and Sydney Regions for people requiring accommodation support or individual support whilst living at home.

Kirinari also provides Veterans' Home Care throughout most of its service areas.

About the Opportunity

Kirinari Community Services has an exciting opportunity for a Client Services Coordinator to join the team at their Northern NSW branch in Inverell.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be indirectly supporting up to thirty service users while playing a key role in achieving Kirinari's Strategic Plan for 2007-2010.

More specifically, some of your duties will include:

  • Service intake and assessment;
  • Undertaking service planning with the persona and their significant others;
  • Providing service supports, including advice advocacy, on-call and crisis response;
  • Conducting staff development activities such as induction, orientation and training;
  • Assisting to compile resources and information;
  • Attending meetings, undertaking professional development and producing reports as required;
  • Using information and communication technology to maintain service records; and
  • Ensuring service quality through promotion of quality assurance and service standards.

The successful candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Disability Services (Diploma level or above) or an equivalent discipline, as well as substantial experience in disability and/or disability services. Candidates with qualifications in a Behavioural Science discipline and/or Workplace Assessment and Training will be highly regarded, however this is not essential.

To be successful in this role you will require demonstrable knowledge of workload coordination and the ability to recognise and resolve conflict while demonstrating resilience during crisis. In addition, you will have current experience and/or knowledge of current practice, policies and disability legislation and excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills.

A high degree of computer literacy will also be required, with some knowledge of client file and data management. A current Senior First Aid Certificate and driver's licence is essential. On call requirements will be rostered dependent on the needs of the branch.
