The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a full time IT Project / Support Officer to join our Taringa team.
The primary purpose of this role is twofold: a) take care of IT office support issues that arise within day-to-day operations and b) take on a range of projects related to our systems and business processes.
Typical duties as part of the IT office support component of the role will include:
- Linux network administration;
- End user support for common Windows/Office type problems;
- Acquiring and setting up new computers;
- Installing operating systems and application software;
- Setting up email accounts; and
- Managing a number of domains.
When it comes to the IT-related projects, these projects will involve working with our CRM system Salesforce, and a software system we built in-house for the management of candidates. The projects will be varied and will see you working with various stakeholders in the business including the Managing Director. As mentioned above, you may also be given the opportunity at times to work with a web development company that is closely related to Employment Office.
We're looking for someone with demonstrated IT skills and knowledge who is proactive, capable of working autonomously, and has a sense of business nous.
You will require experience and skills in C++, SQL and Linux Network Administration, while you will ideally have experience in some or all of the following: Squid, Samba, DHCPD, IPTABLES, MYSQL and BIND9. In addition exposure to cPanel, Asterisk, perl/python and apache would be highly regarded but is not essential.
The role also offers many opportunities for liaison with various internal stakeholders, and the position will suit a people-person who enjoys interacting with others, and who has great communication skills.
