About the Opportunity
Flight Centre Limited's diverse eCommerce team is industry renowned and continuing to grow at a rapid rate. To help support their growth, Flight Centre eCommerce is looking for a talented Web Administrator to join their Web Solutions team in Brisbane.
Based in the company's global head office, this is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the online presence of some of Australia's most viewed websites.
Within this role, your primary purpose will be to provide Web Administration for Flight Centre's leading online solutions, maximising solution stability and throughput across IIS and JBOSS skillsets.
More specifically, some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the stability of the site and any implemented solutions;
- Ensuring changes to the online environment is suitably managed;
- Participating in the on-call roster to provided after hours technical support if required;
- Providing first and second level support to internal stakeholders;
- Supporting internal and external development activities; an
- Supporting website program of work and assisting with new activities as directed.
A key focus of this position is translating 'tech-speak' into simple, jargon free language, so it is imperative you have outstanding communication skills.
This role is ideal for some experienced in Microsoft IIS Admin, who is looking to extend their skills into JBOSS Admin. Alternatively, you will have a Microsoft / JBOSS background and looking for the opportunity to apply your skills set to Flight Centre's diverse range of websites.
To be considered for the position, you will have experience in Web Administration, with a portion of this time dedicated to IIS or JBOSS production support. You will also have a proven ability to rapidly cross skill into an alternate technology stack.
Highly regarded skills include:
- IIS and .net Web Administrator experience
- Redhat (Enterprise) Linux / Unix systems administration experience;
- Experience in Windows system administration;
- Perl and shell scripting skills;
- Apache webserver experience; and
- Knowledge of J2EE architecture.
