About the Organisation

The Kimberley Individual & Family Support Association (KIFSA) was created to provide services for the Disability Services Commission across the Kimberley.

KIFSA offers services to families as well as individuals with disabilities who are not living in family situations or who wish to be considered as individuals outside of the family structure.

KIFSA now provides a service to over 60 families and people with disabilities across the Kimberley, with programs including:

  • Brokered Respite
  • Holiday Program Funding
  • Intensive Family Support
  • Ageing Carers Respite
  • Alternatives to Employment
  • Accommodation Support Program (In development)
  • YPRAC Alternatives to Employment

About the Opportunity

The Kimberley Individual & Family Support Association (KIFSA) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Services Manager to join their dedicated team in Broome, WA.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be a key member of the senior management team and will be responsible for maximising the social, recreational and cultural opportunities for members.

More specifically, your daily contributions will include:

  • Providing a respite service that is appropriate to the diverse needs of the community (inclusive of all age groups and cultural backgrounds);
  • Building partnerships to improve services/facilities from other agencies and Government departments;
  • Assisting the CEO in the formulation and implementation of the organisation's program planning to meet service needs;
  • Contributing to the development of funding submissions;
  • Monitoring the implementation of program delivery; and
  • Providing support to the Program Coordinators in the recruitment, training and management of all support workers.

The successful candidate will have experience in managing or setting up an accommodation support program and previous experience in a senior management role, preferably within the community services field.

You will display a non-judgemental approach in your relationships with people and be committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with a disability.

An understanding of and ability to consider differing perceptions of disability will be supported by your demonstrated ability to think beyond an issue or problem and be creative in finding solutions.

In addition, you will be able to work autonomously, set goals and manage a variety of tasks and competing priorities.

As this position will require contact with a diverse range of people, you will also have the capacity to communicate, negotiate and develop relationships at all levels.

High level computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office, a current Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain), a current driver's licence and the ability to travel to other towns in the Kimberley (if required) are essential.
