The Kingfisher Bay Resort Group is the largest tourism operator on World Heritage-listed Fraser Island and in the Fraser Coast/Hervey Bay region. The company employs some 300 staff in tourism businesses focused on Fraser Island including resorts, tours and ferries. About the Opportunity
If you are an experienced Hospitality Manager looking for a rewarding and challenging role, an exciting opportunity exists for a hands-on Resort Manager to lead the team at Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island.
You will be responsible for the effective and efficient management and coordination of all operational departments of the hotel and the promotion of efficiency, professionalism and hospitality in these areas at a four star level.
Specifically, you will be required to:
- Achieve financial performance targets for both revenue and expenditure on a weekly, monthly and annual basis;
- Ensure that established Company policies are adhered to and that all employees, departments and outlets are neat, clean and functional at all times;
- Manage the company's assets in all areas so as to ensure appropriate return on investment;
- Have input into rate setting and yield management, forecasting business trends, quality control and service standards, and department productivity;
- Ensure that strategies and practices are in place to facilitate the effective staffing of Departments, such that financial and service quality targets are achieved within Budget constraints;
- Assist with the formulation of local sales and marketing strategies and work towards achieving market share budgets; and
- Effectively lead a team in the delivery of a high standard of customer service as well as the ability to respond to guest feedback in a pro active manner which results in continuous business improvement.
The ideal applicant will have a proven track record in Hotel Management, and will hold appropriate formal business, commercial or hotel management qualifications. Experience managing a hotel in a remote location will be highly regarded. You will be particularly effective in the areas of Front Office and Food & Beverage, with experience in controlling management of a diverse range of HRM functions.
Experience in property management and in marketing, in order to enable input into accommodation rates, packages and special group rates, will be highly advantageous.
You will be a guest-focused and results-orientated leader, who demonstrates effective skills in communication, people management and planning. Most importantly, you will enthusiastically identify and accept challenges and opportunities for growth and development of the business.
