About the Organisation
The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust is an Australian Government agency within the Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities portfolio. The organisation was set up by the Australian Government to plan for the future of former Defence and special Commonwealth lands around Sydney Harbour. These lands have been hidden away from the community for many years, but will now be conserved for the benefit of present and future generations of Australians. The lands are not to be sold and will remain in public ownership forever.
The Harbour Trust wants to create something truly special for these lands - to enhance the harbour and leave a lasting legacy for Sydney. About the Opportunity
The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust has a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to join their Building and Site services team working at the Trust's various sites around Sydney Harbour.
In this varied role, you will be coordinating the building and site infrastructure maintenance, events liaison, repair and renewal projects.
More specifically, some of your duties will include:
- Undertaking general building and services repairs and managing any related contractors;
- Undertaking condition appraisals of the Trust's built assets and services infrastructure;
- Managing general programmed asset maintenance and any associated contracts across Trust sites;
- Responding and addressing all service repairs and building repairs in a timely manner;
- Assisting in the delivery of repair estimates and coordinating with the required contractors;
- Providing information, guidance and support to casual event hirers for events and private functions;
- Preparing budgets and risk assessment reports for minor projects;
- Participating in the evaluation of ongoing maintenance contracts and negotiating appropriate financial outcomes with contractors;
- Implementing safety plans and procedures for maintenance activities, works and projects; and
- Monitoring, assessing and approving all contractor time-sheets and keeping relevant records.
To be successful in this role, you will require relevant building trade and/or asset management qualifications as well as previous experience and technical skills in property maintenance. You will also need experience in managing contractors and consultants.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in addition to sound computer skills to enable you to undertake the appropriate administration duties. A current driver's licence is essential.
Any experience with heritage listed assets and/or a boat licence would be highly regarded.
