PRA has exciting opportunities for a Business Development Manager (BDM) and two Employment Consultants to join their Disability Employment Service teams (DES) in Toronto and Newcastle, NSW.
As an Employment Consultant, based in either Toronto or Newcastle, you will be directly assisting people whom are recovering from psychiatric illness, with the goal of them achieving independent, meaningful employment.
More specifically, you will provide assessment and effective case management; engaging job seekers and assisting them to develop workplace skills.
Based in Toronto, your primary role as Business Development Manager, will be to grow PRA's Disability Employment Service area, by seeking and securing large scale employers to employ clients.
You will be required to contact employers through a variety of different methods (including cold calling) in order to establish new business relationships. Applicants for this position will have a strong Sales or Business Development background, with a genuine desire to work within the community sector.
To be considered for either position, you will need to be a people person who has an understanding of disadvantage, and enjoys working with individuals and in challenging situations. A further understanding of disability and/or mental illness would be advantageous.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Behavioural Science, Social Work, Disability, Community Services or a related discipline will be advantageous, but are not essential. In addition, you will require excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to communicate effectively with job seekers.
Candidates with a good understanding of, and empathy for clients with mental health related issues and/ or a disability, and a genuine desire to help others and improve the community will be best suited to this role!
