About Contact Inc

Launched over 3 decades ago, Contact Inc is a follow-on initiative from the International Year of the Child and provides services for isolated children, families and communities. The new Children's Mobile service will aim to provide a cost-effective way of bringing these services to small, geographically widespread of isolated communities, in particular to those where there are no alternate services or gaps in service provision.

The Mobile children's service works specifically within the early childhood educational sector and, as it evolves, will serve as the pilot programme for an expanding service-delivery model.  Though based in Alice Springs, this service provides a range of child and family programs in the Ti Tree and Utopia Homelands regions, including play sessions with children and caregivers with the possibility to extend to adjunct early education and care programs as well as holiday programs and other special community supports

Funding is provided by both The Yuligilbar Foundation and the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation for the service, as well as the Federal Government for an evaluation strategy.
