About the Opportunity
Earth Data has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic HR/ Recruitment Officer to join their Human Resource team in Thornton.
Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, the primary function of role is to support the HR team with a variety of day to day activities as well as work closely with the HR Manager in providing advice on a number of generalist enquiries in line with Earth Data's employee-oriented, high performance culture. Emphasising empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
Some of your specific responsibilities will include:
- Being the first point of contact for all general HR enquiries;
- Performing all aspects of end to end recruitment, selection and on-boarding including training programs and inductions;
- Reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures in line with relevant legislation;
- Assisting line managers and team leaders undertaking performance management actions;
- Conducting, coordinating and reporting on the annual employee survey program;
- Administering and coordinating temporary working visas for international job applicants;
- Coaching line managers and team leaders;
- Undertaking any project work arising from the HR Strategy as directed by the HR Manager;
- Assisting in communicating and implementing various HR projects, policies and procedures;
- Administering records management and archiving as well as any ad hoc administration duties as required; and
- Supporting and providing information to payroll Staff.
Earth Data is seeking an organised and flexible individual with experience in Human Resources, systems & processes with a knowledge of relevant industrial relations legislation and tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or a related discipline. Previous experience in the mining industry would be highly desirable.
The successful candidate will have a high attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to changing deadlines. Highly developed written communication and scheduling skills are also essential, as is demonstrated self-motivation and enthusiasm.
You will be a proactive, team-player with a strong ability to form effective working relationships and relate to people at all levels. Computer literacy, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and Internet Explorer is essential.
