About the Organisation
North Richmond Community Health Limited (NRCH) provides high quality and culturally appropriate medical, allied health, dental and community services to a range of local and state wide clients, particularly from CALD backgrounds, newly-arrived migrant and refugee communities.
NRCH is currently undergoing a major $24 million redevelopment, providing cutting edge health and community facilities for clients and staff. Stage 1 was completed in July 2011 and all clinical services are operating from the new building. Stage 2 is due to be completed in July this year.
About the Opportunity
North Richmond Community Health has a fantastic opportunity for a part time Dietitian to join the team in new, modern facilities in Richmond.
You will work 2 days per week (0.4 EFT), with flexibility to choose days and hours that suit your lifestyle and other commitments.
Reporting to the Manager Nursing and Allied Health, you will work with individuals and groups. Your work will include developing and implementing health promotion and prevention strategies and participating in various activities such as Supermarket Tours and Community cooking groups.
Some of your specific responsibilities will include:
- Working within a chronic disease model to provide high quality dietetic services;
- Referring, consulting and liaising with NRCH staff and developing collaborative relationships with external agencies;
- Coordinating various group activities and supervising students on placements;
- Maintaining current and accurate client health records, care plans and statistical data; and
- Participating in the evaluation and planning of dietetic and broader health promotion activities.
Key skills and experience required:
- Experience in delivering dietetic services for client groups with complex health and social issues, including those from CALD backgrounds and those with mental health issues.
- Experience in conducting community education programs with a preventative focus
- An understanding of the complex health and social issues of CALD, marginalised and disadvantaged groups
The successful candidate will:
- Have completed an accredited Dietetics Course, have registration as a Dietitian with AHPRA and be eligible for membership with the Dietitian's Association of Australia (DAA).
- Be an experienced and highly effective communicator, able to work easily with a wide range of stakeholders and skilled in creating networks, collaborative arrangements and strategic partnerships
- Have the ability to work autonomously and use your initiative
- Have excellent organisational skills to enable you to manage multiple priorities effectively
Fluency in a language other than English would be highly valued
