If you want to escape the grind of city life, an exciting opportunity exists for a Retail Manager to join the supportive team at Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island.
Reporting to the Resort General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Kingfisher Bay Resort General Store, Service Station and Souvenir retail outlet. This will include providing a well presented outlet that meets the standards of a 4 star resort, while still meeting resort budgetary requirements.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Managing the store budget for labour, goods, guest comments and sales;
- Managing stock and stock ordering;
- Providing a sales and customer focused environment;
- Maintaining store records in a timely and accurate manner;
- Managing goods received and the overall process up to stocking onto sales floor;
- Hiring, training and directing store personnel; and
- Ensuring all sales transactions are rung up and reported accurately.

The successful applicant will need highly developed analytical and numeracy skills, along with significant management experience within the retail sector. As you will be managing a small team, you will need effective communication and interpersonal skills to enable you to relate to a variety of stakeholders, from customers to staff.
Computer literacy is essential as is the ability to deal with conflicts and customer complaints in a calm and efficient manner.
